About Our School

Saint Pius X Catholic School is a Full Primary school with a maximum roll of 195 children, serving the Glen Innes and surrounding areas. We were founded by the Holy Faith Sisters in 1958 and continue to follow this faith charism.

Our committed and dedicated staff set high expectations for achievement and behaviour and aim to work in partnership with families to provide the best possible education for all our children.

We are a school where children have positive and enjoyable learning experiences and want to learn. We are part of the Auckland Central Catholic Kahui ako - Community of Learning (CoL) which is leading the implementation of twenty-first century teaching and learning in New Zealand. We are a digital school where all students from Years 6 to 8 use their own chromebook and younger students use technology as much as possible to enhance their learning.

2020 saw the completion of a total rebuild of all our facilities which will further enhance the innovative teaching and learning practices, already evident in our day to day operation.

The senior children interviewed by the reviewers are a living testament that the school is achieving what the community aspires to in their Mission Statement: 'Excellence in Education: working together as a Catholic community.'  The school provides an environment and many opportunities for each child to have a genuine and ongoing encounter with Christ, to grow in knowledge and understanding of Christ's teaching and to live a life of Christian witness within the Catholic Church."
